On this year’s World Teachers’ Day, I celebrate our dedicated teachers across Lagos East Senatorial District and Nigeria for their invaluable contributions to education, human capital development and nation-building.
Teachers are the foundation of every thriving society. Through their knowledge, patience and commitment, they shape young minds, nurture talents and equip future generations with the skills and values needed to succeed.
I remain convinced that quality education begins with empowered teachers. Through the SAIL Empowerment Foundation, we continue to invest in our teachers through initiatives such as the Teachers’ Fellowship, in partnership with MTN Nigeria Foundation, which has upskilled over 10,000 teachers across Nigeria in modern teaching methodologies, including Inquiry-Based Learning.
Our commitment to teachers also extends to young learners through the STEM Programme at the SAIL Innovation Lab, Ikorodu,, where public-school pupils are introduced to 3D technology, robotics and digital creativity. Complementary programmes in Data Science, Tech Talent Development and Digital Marketing further prepare our young people for opportunities in an increasingly digital world.
We have also facilitated the construction and equipping of schools across Lagos East, recognising that quality teaching must be supported by conducive learning environments and improved educational infrastructure.
To every teacher across Lagos East and Nigeria, I salute your resilience, sacrifice and unwavering dedication. The impact of your work endures in every life.
Happy World Teachers’ Day 2026!
